This is the first module of the Lean Information Technology (or Lean IT) course. This module includes the basic concepts of Lean in the enterprise as a foundation before we move on to the application of Lean in IT. The topics covered in this module include: Behavior of processes Concept of process capability Value added activities versus non-value added Concept of a value stream and the components that make up a value stream Define several different metrics of time, such as cycle time, lead time, throughput time and takt time How time, defects and cost are linked
